Expectedly, a lot has happened to Dana Air and Nigerians generally, since the tragic incident of June 3, 2012, when a Dana flight from Abuja crashed in a residential area in the Iju-Ishaga neighbourhood of Lagos. The crash, believed to have been caused by dual engine failure, resulted in the deaths of all 153 people on board as well as about 10 deaths on the ground.
Well, the number of casualties is still mounting as the Lagos state government is set to demolish structures, which foundation may have been compromised as a result of the impact of the crash. The demolition of such structures on four streets around the site of the crash would enable the government to construct a network of roads in preparation for the first anniversary of that very unfortunate incident.
But, can the aviation authority, please, make up their mind finally on what to do with Dana Air instead of banning and unbanning the airline in the same breath? We are watching.
